Tungnath Temple proudly stands as the highest Shiva shrine
in the world. The Tungnath trek is more than just a mountain

peace. Though moderately challenging, the path is filled
with calm, devotion, and awe-inspiring scenery that makes
every effort worthwhile. At this height, surrounded by snow

A little higher rests the magnificent Chandrashila Peak,
soaring at 13,123 feet (4,000 meters). The climb, though

Trek Difficulty and Experience
The Tungnath and Chandrashila trek is easy to moderate, ideal for first-time trekkers. The final stretch to Chandrashila Peak is steeper but rewards trekkers with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama.
Ideal Season and Trek Preparation
Best time is April to November. Trekkers should carry trekking shoes, layered warm clothes, gloves, caps, rain gear, water, snacks, sunscreen, and basic medicines for a safe and enjoyable journey.

Begin your overnight journey towards Sari Village via Rishikesh.
- Stop at Devprayag: Witness Bhagirathi & Alaknanda confluence.
- Arrive at Sari Village: Check-in at homestay.
- Trek to Deoriatal: 2.5 km (1.5–2 hrs).
- Enjoy Deoriatal views & return to Sari/Chopta.
- Evening: Bonfire + DJ night + Dinner.
- Breakfast at homestay.
- Drive to Chopta (1 hour).
- Trek to Tungnath Temple (3.5 km).
- Continue trek to Chandrashila Summit (1.5 km).
- Return to Chopta/Sari for overnight stay.
